Happy New Year 😊 I hope that you enjoyed spending time with those you love the most and feel rested.

I’m really looking forward to seeing you all and starting the spring term together. Our history topic this half term is going to be, “World War 2 and the Holocaust” and after half term we will be looking at the “Cold War”.  In science we will be focusing on electricity and then light. For more information on what will be covered and when, please see the “Peacock Class Overview 2022-2023” (below)

Monday- swimming, please ensure that your child has their swimming kits with them on Mondays.

Friday- Dance, please ensure that your child comes into school in an indoor PE kit on a Friday

Homework

Homework will continue to be set on a Friday and will be due in on Wednesday. This will consist of spelling practise, mathletics and, from this term onwards, it will also include a piece of grammar homework.

In addition to this weekly homework that is being set, we expect your child to be reading independently or with an adult for 15 minutes each day. Please support your child by listening to them read, asking questions about the text and helping with any unfamiliar words.

Thank you so much for your support. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Peacock class have created some poems based on World War 2 inspired by Joshua Seigal’s, “Just a book”. Mrs Jones sent the poetry onto him and he has chosen a few and put them onto his blog. Please see the link above and scroll down a little to see our work.
