Church School Vision
School motto = Believe in yourself and each other
For “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13
Our vision is to be nurtured by Jesus The Good Shepherd day by day in our teaching, learning and care for one another.
We do not give up on ourselves or each other.
We are inspired to live out our Christian values to strive for Excellence in all that we do; living life in all its fullness.
We are committed to ensuring we develop the whole child, linked to the Church of England’s vision July 2016 of “life in all its fullness”.
We deliver a broad and exciting curriculum and a shared zest for life and learning.
We are here so that we flourish as individuals and as an aspiring community. Whether we are staff or pupils we aim to reach our full potential.
We are here to enrich our local village and church with energy, kindness and our irrepressible vitality.
Jesus said: “I come that they may have life and have it to the full” John 10 v 10
How then do we live together if we follow Jesus the Good Shepherd?
- Just as a good shepherd knows each one of his flock, and each sheep knows his voice, each of us is valued as a precious human being and valued beyond measure. In our everyday life together, we aim for the highest standards of care, compassion, respect and safety.
- Just as a good shepherd makes sure his sheep reach the best pastures and can thrive, so we aim for every member to have opportunities to thrive in body, mind and spirit.
- Just as a good shepherd patiently searches for any lost sheep, we aim to encourage those who might struggle, comfort those who feel lost, and rejoice together when we achieve great things!
The Good Shepherd story is about us giving reassurance to the children. The sheep represents our children, we the school, the headteacher, the staff, the governors, the parents are like the Good Shepherd. We as a staff give reassurance to our children that we are there for them as Jesus was for his flock. We will care and look after them, we will teach them and do not leave anyone behind.
We all show this through our core values under the umbrella of Koinonia, as our school is at the heart of the community:
Respect
Compassion
Friendship
Courage/Endurance and self-sacrifice
Poem created by staff, governors, parents showing how we see our school based on our vision and what we want our children to be:
Based on the poem ‘Inside My Box’ by Kit Wright
Inside our school you will find:
A curious person, inclusive of all,
A unique individual that flourishes and grows,
And my family that nurtures and protects.
Inside our school you will find:
Creativity flowing through every heart,
Open doors that open minds,
And a journey guided by love and understanding.
Outside our school I will be:
Resilient in the face of adversity,
Inquisitive and engaging through life’s opportunities,
And a respectful member of the community.
